Dear Stanford
Community in Washington State,
Put some sense
and sensibility into your summer with AllLearn's
new course on Jane Austen and the creation of the English romance
novel. AllLearn is an alliance between Stanford, Oxford, and Yale
that provides lifelong learning opportunities for alumni.
This is the
time of year when Stanford clubs elect new officers.
I'd like to recognize and thank Ken Hosac, '89, MS '98, as he
finishes up a two-year term as president of the Stanford Club of
Washington. We now enthusiastically welcome Doug Wake, '74, into
the presidency! Thank you to all of the local leaders who help
create a Stanford community in Washington year-round!
Events tend
to slow down over the summer, so I'll not be sending
a newsletter to you in July. If you have any Stanford specific items
for the August newsletter, be sure to let me know. I hope you enjoy
the sunshine and the 4th of July holiday.
Until August,

Thank you for
indulging my attempt at festive holiday charm! I
know it's that busy time of year, but I hope you take a moment
to get engaged with Stanford this holiday season.
In Seattle
you can get into the spirit by dancing with the
dance series and listening to music by What The Chlem! And,
be sure to buy your ticket and plan to cheer on the Lady
Cardinal at the Cardinal vs. UW Husky Women's Basketball game
on January 4th.
I hope you
enjoy healthy happy holidays!
Until January,
Jen

Campus next
week gets awfully serious for fall quarter exams.
If you'd like to play along at home, then open your blue books
and answer the following question: If Roommate A has her last
exam on Tuesday and Roommate B has her last exam on Friday,
how unfair is that? Partial credit will be awarded for reading
this newsletter.
