Details

The SCW has arranged for a guided tour of the latest exhibit at the Frye Art Museum by art historian
Ms Kelly Wright:

Yvonne Twining Humber, Modern Painter

An exhibit presenting works by this artist on the centenary of her birth (1907-2004), and highlighting artwork from the artist’s W.P.A. years in Boston and from the 1940s following her move to Seattle (Seattle resident 1943 onward). Humber became active in the city’s arts community, and received a solo exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum in 1946.

Humber’s canvases of American urban and rural landscapes demonstrate a refined Realism that combines the stylistic and thematic concerns of Regionalism with the hard-edged clarity of Precisionism.

For details, see: Frye Art Museum Stanford Tour

Note: The Frye is offering this private tour with the docent reserved for us, so please honor your RSVP by attending at the indicated time. Thank you.
