Join alums from Denver, Seattle and Victoria for a Friday late afternoon BBQ at the Victoria summer home of Kathleen and Stuart MacMillan followed by an informal talk by Dave McKercher (Ph.D., '01) about his research. Dave is a professor of Linguistics at U-Victoria and a Stanford alum!

Group Kayaking: Sign up to explore the waters around Victoria on Saturday.
The kayak tour is being organized by Pacifica Paddlesports, www.pacificapaddle.com . The price for the day is $100 CN and includes kayak, paddle, all safety equipment, transportation to and from the launch beach, lunch and experienced guides. You call them directly toll-free at 1.877.921.9365 to reserve your space in the Stanford group. Let them know if you are an experienced kayaker and prefer a single kayak or less experienced with sea kayaking and will do better in a double kayak.

Saturday evening will be a joint dinner, followed by the Luminara Festival (a unique parade/event of lanterns and candles in the park).
Sunday we will come together once again for brunch where we say goodbye to the group and then either stay on on our own or return home.

Where to sleep: We have a great group rate at a nice hotel, Victoria's only Five Star Canada Select Luxury Hotel, the Hotel Grand Pacific. It is on the inner harbor, a perfect location - across the street from the Seattle Clipper's arrival point, the Coho arrival point and a few blocks from Kenmore Air's float planes. Our rate is $179 CDN for a standard room (upgrades possible). The Friday evening BBQ will be $15 to help cover costs of the meal and the speaker. Dinner Saturday evening and Sunday brunch will be paid for individually. Everyone will take care of their own transportation to Victoria.
