Alumni and members of the Stanford Club of Washington:
An Evening with Stanford Professor Roz Naylor
Please join us Wednesday, April 25, for an intriguing lecture elucidating food and agriculture issues in the 21st century. Professor Roz Naylor is the Director of Stanford's new program on Food Security and the Environment. She will speak on the challenges of feeding the planet's population. There are many challenges: roughly a billion people experience chronic hunger, climate change threatens food production in the tropics, an increasing share of cropland is devoted to biofuels, and the environment suffers from many intensive production methods. Professor Naylor will address these issues and discuss scientific and policy interventions that might alleviate global hunger and environmental harm in the future.
6:30 p.m. Check in and refreshments of Appetizers, Wine and Non-alcoholic Beverages, and Dessert.
7:00 p.m. Professor Naylor's lecture, Q&A following
All at The Mountaineers Building in the Olympus Room
