Details

The Stanford Book Club is a fun group of Stanford alumni who share an avid interest in literary exploration. The book club meets on the third Tuesday of every month at University Village Barnes & Noble 2nd Floor by the fireplace.

We are very interested in recruiting new members. Please feel free to contact Sheila to be added to the mailing list and to find out what books the group is reading.

Upcoming Meetings

Feb 24, 2004  (Tuesday at 7pm)
Atonement, by Ian McEwan. Note the change in date to avoid President's Day weekend. Stanford's book salon has selected it as their choice & there would be an option to follow along with that on-line book club discussion as well. For more info on that see:
http://www.stanfordalumni.org/stanfordreads

Past Meetings

January 20, 2004  (Tuesday)
The Emperor of Ocean Park, by Stephen Carter. The book is a bit
longer than we normally pick, but I've heard that it reads quickly.

December 9, 2003  (Tuesday)
The Power of One, by Bryce Courtenay. It's the story of a
boy growing up in South Africa during and just after World War II.

Oct 22, 2003  (Wednesday)
Her Husband, by Stanford Professor Diane Middlebrook

Sept 16, 2003  (Tuesday)
The Corrections, by Jonathan Franzen.
